The power of a handwritten letter

Summit High School principal Jason Mutterer shows up for his students every day, and graduation is no exception. Every year, he handwrites detailed, personal notes for each senior and includes $1 out of his own pocket, asking graduates to pay it forward with an act of kindness for someone else. His wife is battling cancer this year, but he still wrote 494 letters for Summit’s Class of 2026.

At graduation, though, this year’s seniors flipped the script. They surprised an emotional Coach Mutt with nearly 500 of their own letters…back to him. Just a small token of their appreciation for the love and attention he showers on them every single day.

You’re going to want to watch this story…and meet Coach Mutt!
