Seen on a Nametag

The clerk wore a standard employee name tag. But if you looked close enough, underneath his name in smaller print read: “I love my wife.”

You don’t see that every day, so I asked him about it. He smiled and said he’d been married to his high school sweetheart for 40 years. When the store owner had name tags made, she added something about each employee in smaller print to personalize them. Because he always talks with such admiration for his wife, she put those four simple words on his.

Does his wife know? Yes, he said. Sees him put that tag on every day. A good reminder that her husband loves her and is proud for all to know it.
