My husband and I walked through a beautiful park today in a very swanky part of Helsinki that’s popular with tourists and locals. We stopped to look at a bronze statue of a famous person there and were laughing light-heartedly at a seagull perched right on its head. My husband joked that it was called “Man with A Bird on His Head” statue.
As we lingered, a total stranger walked up and wondered aloud if this famous man ever guessed that he’d be commemorated by birds pooping on his head. We laughed together and shared that we’d just said the same thing. Then we each went on our way.
Just a fun, simple, human connection made between strangers. Laughter is such a universal language.
