Nailing your job

For the last year and a half, I’ve lived in a wonderful retirement community, but I don’t drive anymore. Because I can be a little unsteady on my feet, I’ve been hesitant to use the free van service that takes residents off-site to run errands. I didn’t know how I would do on the stairs getting into and out of the vehicle.

I recently took the van with a friend, though, to get my nails done. I told the driver right away that I was a newbie, and he showed me the ropes. He drove us there and came back to get us right when we needed him to. I know it’s his job, but I really appreciated his patience in making me comfortable, and the freedom I now have to go more places on my own.
