While traveling abroad, we were in an urban public square enjoying the scenery. On the promenade area nearby, vendors offered casual food. The weather was beautiful, so we decided to order wine and a pizza. Just as we were sitting down, a strong wind gust blew an umbrella stand over onto a table of about 6 people.
My husband immediately set our pizza down and went over to help. One of the girls at the table had minor injuries. Because he helped, other people could focus their attention on her and the umbrella was safely secured.
It didn’t matter that we didn’t know anyone involved or even speak the same languages. It was clear what needed to be done, and good hearts led the way.
Proud wife across the pond
